Gen.G Is Turning a KINTEX Exhibition Hall Into Its Own Esports “Home” for a Weekend, With T1 and Dplus KIA as the Guests

Professional esports team competing on stage, representing LCK Gen.G homestand event

SOOP, Korea’s dominant livestreaming platform, announced on June 22 that it will build a two-day “homestand” for League of Legends team Gen.G at KINTEX Exhibition Hall 5 in Goyang on July 31 and August 1, according to a same-day report from Digital Daily reporter Lee Hak-beom. The event, called “House of Gen.G,” pits Gen.G against T1 on day one and Dplus KIA on day two — back-to-back matchups against two of the LCK’s most recognizable rival teams.

A “homestand” in Korean esports is distinct from simply relocating a match: teams build an actual home-turf environment and share the same physical space with fans, rather than fans watching from separate arena seating while players stay isolated backstage. The concept for this event, “House of Gen.G,” is built explicitly to include people who aren’t Gen.G fans — rival-team fans, streamers, and general esports fans are all invited into what’s framed as Gen.G’s own house, in line with the team’s brand positioning around “Rivals and Friends,” treating competition and fandom as compatible rather than opposed.

The event builds on an existing partnership: SOOP and Gen.G signed a streaming partnership running through 2028 covering player streams, streamer collaboration content, and fan-participation events, and SOOP is handling planning, marketing, content production, and live broadcast for the homestand. Beyond the two headline matches, August 1 will also host the finals of “LoL Death Match with Gen.G,” a SOOP streamer tournament, alongside homestand-exclusive merchandise, official light-stick packages, and a premium ticket tier called “The Golden Key.”
