Starbucks Korea’s 2026 Menu Leans on Nostalgia: Choux Cream Matcha and a 30th-Anniversary Frappuccino

Starbucks Korea’s 2026 seasonal lineup has centered on a run of choux-cream-themed drinks — including a Choux Cream Matcha Latte, Choux Foam Matcha Latte, Choux Cream Strawberry Latte, and Choux Foam Strawberry Latte — rolled out across a January-through-February promotional window, followed by a Cherry Blossom Peach Cream Frappuccino and, timed to the release of “Toy Story 5,” an April-to-May promotional tie-in period that again featured the Choux Cream and Choux Foam Matcha Lattes as recurring menu anchors.

The choux-cream concept — a nod to the light, airy pastry cream used in French choux buns — represents Starbucks Korea’s continued pattern of building limited-time drink families around a single unifying texture or flavor concept rather than launching entirely unrelated one-off specials each season, a strategy that lets the chain re-use consumer familiarity with a successful flavor concept across multiple promotional cycles within the same year.

Marking a separate milestone, Starbucks released a Café Brûlée Frappuccino to celebrate the Frappuccino format’s 30th anniversary — a nostalgia-driven release tied to one of the coffee chain’s single most commercially important product categories globally, since the Frappuccino line has remained a core warm-weather sales driver for Starbucks since its original 1995 debut.

Starbucks Korea’s promotional calendar illustrates the chain’s broader approach to the Korean market specifically: pairing global franchise milestones (the Frappuccino anniversary) with entertainment-tie-in marketing (the Toy Story 5 promotional period) and Korea-specific seasonal flavor trends, a three-pronged calendar structure that keeps the menu refreshing on a roughly six-to-eight-week cycle throughout the year.

For Korea’s broader cafe industry — one of the most saturated in the world on a per-capita basis — Starbucks’s ability to sustain regular menu novelty at this pace remains a significant competitive advantage against both domestic chains and independent cafes that operate with far smaller product-development budgets.
