Korea’s cosmetics exports hit a record $7 billion in the first half of 2026, up 27.2% year-on-year, extending a export run that saw full-year 2025 exports reach $11.4 billion — and increasingly, beauty devices rather than traditional skincare formulas are driving the next leg of that growth, with LED masks, radiofrequency (RF), and high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) home-use tools becoming one of the category’s fastest-growing segments.
APR’s beauty-device brand Medicube, marketed under the “AGE-R” line, surpassed 5 million cumulative units sold as of September 2025, illustrating how quickly Korean beauty-tech products have moved from niche premium purchases to mainstream category leaders — a trajectory that mirrors the broader path Korean skincare itself took roughly a decade earlier before becoming a globally recognized retail category.
Amorepacific has pushed further into the space as well, following its 2024 “Skin Light Therapy3” LED device with an expanded product lineup, and unveiling an AI-driven skin-analysis and care solution developed in collaboration with Samsung Electronics at CES 2026 — a partnership that signals how Korean beauty conglomerates are increasingly positioning devices as a technology category adjacent to consumer electronics rather than a simple skincare accessory.
Industry forecasts project Korea’s home beauty-device market growing from $1.32 billion in 2024 to $4.81 billion by 2034, a roughly 13.8% compound annual growth rate, while the global home-beauty-device market overall is expected to expand from roughly 10 trillion won in 2025 to 13 trillion won in 2026 and 19 trillion won by 2027 — growth curves that Korean brands are positioning themselves to capture given their existing skincare-export infrastructure and brand recognition.
The device pivot reflects a deliberate diversification strategy for an industry that has historically depended heavily on formula-based skincare and color cosmetics, with device categories offering both higher price points and a less commoditized competitive landscape than standard serums and creams.
